Pro HDR X App Reviews

Absolutely LOVE IT !!!!

It takes great HDR images really quick and simply with a push of the button (other apps can too). But this app has so much flexibility and does so much more that cant be found elsewhere on the iOS platform. I LOVE the ability to load any set of bracketed photos of various exposures and it produce a great HDR image. This little app on a phone can produce HDR images almost as good has my high dollar HDR desktop software such as Photomatix, Nik HDR Efex Pro 2 or EasyHDR. Most of the time I use another app on my phone that captures 3 bracketed (EV -2,0,2) high quality, unprocessed tiff/RAW files from the iPhone camera, then load them in this app for the HDR image. Do a little touch up in Photoshop Express and Snapseed and you end up with a photo that blows peoples mind that it was taken on an iPhone! When Im out and about, I also like to wireless transfer my bracketed images from my DSLR camera to my phone and then load them into this app to quickly create a HDR image to see how it will turn out while Im still out in the field.

Still has problems

Ive been using this app since its debut and there are still issues. Sometimes it starts zoomed in, other times it crashes completely on my 5s. Wont save some pics, HDR is weird and wrong at times. It takes great pictures, but only sometimes. It would be nice if this was as solid an app as its predecessor but no updates have fixed the problems.

Better quality

Very good quality. Id say even better than the camera that comes with iPhones. And I love how the pics that you take automatically save to your photos. Brightness is great and over all quality is

Phenomenal

My go to app for still shots with different light.

Works Great!!!

So far seems to be great. Colors really stand out compared to the stock camera software.

Used to Love It

I used to use the previous version of this app and then they stopped updating it for the new iOS. They announced this and I immediately bought (having taken a ton of great photos with it, especially landscapes). THE ISSUE: New bugs / no support. I tried to report the bug where the camera appears zoomed when you first open the app but it still takes the photo "full wide" which ruins your framing. Ive missed a lot of good photos this way because you cant properly frame. When you submit via the app to their email it bounces. When you click the "App Support" you go to a dead website that hasnt been updated in over a year and also has no contact info. Completely willing to rewrite this review if there is at least some acknowledgment that the bug is known and being worked on but I fear this app is a dead end. GOOD: The good is that after the first photo you take the viewfinder reverts back to proper "full wide" zoom and you can snap to your hearts content. Crossing fingers and hoping for support on this one!

Why did I wait so long to get this?

I didnt know they had released a new version of this app--this one is infinitely easier to use. WaaaaaaY better than the HDR capability built into iOS. Loving it so far!

Please Update

Last updated over a year ago? Please update for the latest iPhone 6S.

Fabulous app

Perfect for all the super high contrasts in the tropics!

Get a newer iPhone if you want this app to work proper!!!

Hey folks dont expect to buy this app for your iPhone 4/4s and have it work perfectly. I think this app is great and it works great on my 6s plus. I Dont think you should get this app if you have a 4/4s. Hell, if you are still rocking a mark 4 iPhone get a new one! Ok, ok; if you dont have the money for a new phone then figure out a way to make more money. 90% of the 1% are not very sharp people, trust me. You can do it!!!

Bug in current version PLEASE FIX

I love this app, but the last two versions of it have a big flaw in it. Every time I open up the app and I go to take a picture, the screen is zoomed in. When I snap a shot The picture is Zoomed out. Making the app worthless to use. Please fix this bug and I will change my rating back to five stars UPDATE; 2 15 16 The problem still occurs, at this point to recommend purchasing another app

Any update

I love this app, but its crashing lately. Sometimes it zoomed in and when picture is taken it goes back to default zoom.

Rude behavior, long since update, framing problems

The core functionality of this app has always been fantastic. The experience of actually using it, however, has become steadily worse. It now inserts an annoying message into photo exports ("I took this photo with Pro HDR X for iOS!") which is a sort of stupid anti-recommendation to whoever I accidentally send it to. Also, the app now opens zoomed in on about 1/3 the actual photo frame; I have to take a shot, wait for it to process, then start over before I can properly line up a shot. This app was last updated in 2014, so odds are these bugs and user-hostile behaviors are unlikely to be addressed.

Shames Apples HDR app

This app simply amazes me. It is so awesome that I would expect Apple to do something almost equally elegant. Apple uniformly makes great and wonderful software. I have an iPhone 6s Plus. That is the best iPhone ever made with the best camera they have ever put in a phone. It has an HDR setting. Comparing Apples HDR app (the setting in their camera app) to Pro HDR X is like comparing a bicycle to a Lexus. They are simply not in the same league. When I want great HDR photographs, I use Pro HDR X. Over the years I have diligently looked for good HDR apps. I try all the best-rated ones. Some of them are wonderful, but I have never found anything as terrific and exciting and as useful as this. I would say just rush out and buy it. --Eben Visher

Cant get a good shot the first time

I like this app, but most of the time when I open it I have to take a couple of shots before it is right. The first 2 shots are all out of perspective. The 3rd shot will be correct.

Great HDR App, Needs Update

This is my favorite HDR app, Ive used it for years, I wish it would get updated to work with the newer iPhones like the 6S Plus. The photo preview is off leaving the user guessing on framing the shot.

Not so exciting.

Not so appreciable and exciting as I thought it would do. Cannot control the bracketing, and its shot in one go. It shot quite a bit of good photos but it started crashing. Not sure why.

Force Closes

Great app with easy controls but from time to time the app force closes even when i clear all background apps it still force closes. 6S Plus with 9.2.1

Well done

Easy to use and functional HDR. Im still playing with it, but am highly pleased so far.

Used to be good

Keeps crashing on manual HDR. Please someone fix this
