Pro HDR X App Reviews

Good

Best HDR-App so far. Images are not very noisy, ive seen worse. Missing dramatic Filter.

Warmth missing

In pro HDR I loved the warmth adjustment. In pro HDR X, this adjustment is missing. Otherwise great and I would not want tot miss it.

Superb quality, unbelievable for a smartphone camera

It is absolutely stunning what this App does, even in Auto mode. I just took probably one of the most difficult photos imaginable, namely two extremely bright TFTs in a completely dark room, where even my eyes have difficulty with the contrast. Well, this app captured this scene perfectly, with pretty much everything on the TFTs crisp and well lit (not blown out), and the dark table and background essentially noise-free and also well balanced. The apps author clearly knows what he is doing.

Not as good as Pro HDR

I own now both and have made many pictures to compare. Unfortunately the pictures with Pro HDR X arent nearly as good as those with the "older" Pro HDR. I took some selfie pictures and I had a window behind my back. Pictures with the older Pro HDR have in these circumstances NATURALLY "more light"! Well, I have to keep still and wait, but the result ist much better! And with iph 6 even the "older" Pro Hdr works much faster! 3 stars only for the UI of the new version! Put the new UI on the older Pro Hdr and then you will get 5 stars.

Used to be good... But the new version sucks

The old version used to take stunning pictures. You had to stay still, but if you did, youd be rewarded. This new "X" version, however, is dumbed down and the HDR is lost. Even using the manual exposure boxes, the dark parts of the picture come out extremely dark and the bright areas are iver-saturated. What a pity.

Good app !

Works pretty well on an iPad 4 and iPhone 5c. I tried it also on an old iPad 2 (on iOS 8) : Picture taking is good but app crashes while using the frame utility. Overall, Im quite satisfied.

Not good

Just bought. Crashes after each photo is taken.

Even better than the original app

The original app was awesome, but was slow. This new version makes it so easy! Auto works for most shots but you can override it too! This narrows the gap between iPhone and camera (e.g. DSLRs) even more, now that the limited dynamic range of the small iPhone sensor has a helping hand!

Magic

Excellent update to a really useful app. Now theres no lag between shots its even more useful and the extra features are just icing on the cake.

Does not work on an iPhone 4s

The app quits every time it tries to load the final HDR image. It appears to take the shots, it renders the preview, but then crashes upon loading the final image. I have an iPhone 4s with iOS 8.1.2, 1.1GB free space. The issue happens even after a reboot. I will update the review/rating when the app works correctly. The older version of this app "Pro HDR" still works very well. Its one of my favorite photo apps.

Support it!

As a big ProHDR fan, its a must-try! And you wont be disappointed because picture is only for one-take! After lots shots, to be frank, I have to get back Old one because of the "Pic+HDR effect". Old one is truly amazing HDR although I have to wait a little longer.

Epic Fail

Crashes constantly on 4s I havent had one image work out, not one! I want my money back, dont waste your money!

Bad. Just weak

I have both pro HDR and pro HDR x. On iPhone 6, pro HDR x does work, its faster than the older version BUT it produce very low quality HDR photos. Nothing comparable to the older version of pro HDR. Absolute waste of money.

Basically perfect.

I always loved Pro HDR and this version is better in every way. The only two things I didnt like about the original version were the speed and the in ability to control the hdr strength (generally shots came out great, but now and then I wanted to turn down the effect). Both thing are in this version so I can safely say this app is perfect in my eyes. Great job guys.

Better HDR but some loss in sharpness

Compared to other HDR apps, this one does a better job with exposures and captures a wider dynamic range. What is lacking is the ability to save as a tiff image like its competitor ProCamara. Manual control over detail and ghosting would be preferred but, its not photoshop. What it does do, it does well. This app still does not eliminate other apps but is a nice addition and a recommended purchase.

Oh my, love it!

I thought I loved the original app, but this one kills it. Super fast shutter and takes three exposures, which you can adjust separately for lighting. Keep in mind Im on an iPhone 6. Not sure how its fairing on other phones.

Pro HDRX

Great update to my favorite photo app

Awesome camera

More natural tonal range on HDR images than Apple’s built-in camera app. Manages this while not being overly-fiddly to use — which many camera apps fail to achieve.

Much better than the original

This is definitely a big improvement from the original ProHDR. Much faster and a way nicer interface. If you like ProHDR, you will love this one!

So much fun!

This new version of an old app is a ton of fun! Love the user friendly controls and quick access to improving an already great shot! Keep up the great work!
